Finding the Reset: Brogan’s Family Escape to the Pool Villa

For anyone navigating the joyful, chaotic tempo of family life, finding a holiday that delivers genuine rest for both parents and kids can feel nearly impossible. Between busy school schedules and everyday routines, what most of us crave isn't a packed itinerary, but space to simply exhale.

Recently, we handed over the keys of our Pool Villa to Brogan and her family. Arriving with her partner Matt, their three energetic boys, and Brogan's parents, the crew settled in for an effortless, multi-generational weekend along the East Coast.

Making Memories in the In-Between Moments

When we asked Brogan to name her favourite moment of the weekend, she couldn't pinpoint just one. For her, the magic lived entirely in the unscheduled hours.

"It’s honestly so hard to choose one moment because the whole weekend felt like such a reset. I loved the simple things most—Monopoly around the table, swimming with the boys, karaoke in the garage, and just having nowhere to be. It was one of those weekends where the memories came from doing very little, together."

Between afternoon swims and late-night garage sing-alongs, the family strolled down into Bicheno at dusk for an evening ritual loved by visitors of all ages: spotting little fairy penguins returning to the shore under the stars.

A Space Designed to Switch Off

Traveling with three boys usually requires constant vigilance, but the Pool Villa was designed to bridge thoughtful, high-end architecture with real, livable functionality. For Brogan, the private pool precinct was an instant sanctuary.

"The pool area would have to be my favourite. The whole setup is so beautiful and considered, but having the pool right there made it so easy with the boys. They could swim and entertain themselves while we could actually relax and enjoy the space too."

Once the sun dipped low and the kids finally drifted off after full days in the water, the evening gave way to deeper restoration inside the private cedar sauna.

"So relaxed! There’s something about getting into a sauna when you’re away that makes you completely switch off. It was such a beautiful way to end the day, especially after being out exploring and swimming. I definitely left feeling like I’d properly exhaled."

Three Generations Under One Roof

Creating an environment where grandparents, parents, and young kids can share the same roof without stepping on each other's toes is no small feat. For Brogan, having her parents along added another layer of warmth to the weekend.

"We’re always busy with three boys, so having a space where there was so much for everyone to do, but nowhere we needed to rush off to, was really special. The villa gave us that feeling of being away without needing a packed itinerary. We could swim, play games, cook easy meals, have a drink, sing karaoke, and just enjoy being together."

Dinner on coastal getaways should always be uncomplicated. One evening, the family skipped cooking entirely to pick up takeaway woodfired pizzas from a local town favourite, keeping the vibe around the table relaxed, easy, and grounded.

"Bicheno is so easy to get around and we had everything we needed close by. It really gave us the best of both worlds—having Bicheno close by while still feeling like we were tucked away in our own little escape."

The Next Chapter

A truly memorable stay leaves you feeling restored and already daydreaming about the return trip. For Brogan and Matt, Casa has already etched itself as a firm family staple.

"We’d love to come back. There was genuinely something for everyone, and I think that’s what made it so special. We’ve already said we’d happily return, whether it’s another family weekend or even a slower little escape just Matt and I."
